Iffraaj's Audience Produces 'TDN Rising Star' Display at Newmarket

Cheveley Park Stud's hitherto unraced Audience (GB) (Iffraaj {GB}) went off as a 15-2 chance for the first division of Friday's 888sport British EBF Novice S. at Newmarket, a contest won in 2019 by last term's G2 Derby Italiano hero Tuscan Gaze (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), and came home by daylight to earn 'TDN Rising Star' status with an impressive debut display. He recovered from a slightly awkward getaway to stalk the pace out wide through halfway. Powering to the front on the bridle approaching the quarter-mile marker, Audience was shaken up with 1 1/2 furlongs remaining and quickened clear underneath the stands' side rail up the hill to outclass Yantarni (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) in style.

Audience is the fourth foal and winner produced by Listed City Plate victrix Ladyship (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}), herself the lone black-type performer out of G1 Sun Chariot S. and G1 Lockinge S. heroine Peeress (GB) (Pivotal {GB}). The March-foaled homebred bay is a half-brother to G3 Dick Poole Fillies' S. winner Dark Lady (GB) (Dark Angel {Ire}), a yearling filly by Ulysses (Ire) and a weanling colt by Harry Angel (Ire).
